Mrs. Grovene Ford Blair of Enterprise passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was 95.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Rev. Slade Stinson officiating. Private burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time.
Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to Lee Street Baptist Church Building Fund, 630 E Lee St., Enterprise, AL 36330 or Autism Pensacola, 3916 N 105th Ave, Pensacola, FL 32503.
Mrs. Blair was born March 21, 1922, in Merkel, Texas. She was a faithful member of Lee Street Baptist Church in Enterprise.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Russell T. Blair; parents, Walter and Lucy Bridges Ford; brother, Ray Ford; sister, Mattie Lou Wozencraft; son-in-law, Felix Stinson.
Survivors include two daughters; Kelly B. Scott (James) of Royston, GA and Brenda B. Stinson of Enterprise; six grandchildren: Schell Scott, Jay Scott (Kathie), Blair Stinson, Slade Stinson (Jennifer), Lacy Scott, and Rusty Scott (Brette); nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
The family thanks Kindred Hospice (formerly Gentiva) for their loving, compassionate care, and also her special caregivers, Laurie Shroades and Debbie Williams.
